Anurag’s Ugly for G.V. Prakash


G.V. Prakash who completed 25 films with Vikram’s Thaandavam is going places.The young composer, who won critical acclaim for his work in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur and Joker, has been signed up for Anurag’snext film, Ugly.Though the cast and crew of Ugly are yet to be revealed, G.V. Prakash has been confirmed for the soundtrack.

“Yes, I have already started working on Kashyap’s next. It is a contemporary film and musically challenging,” said Prakash. “I space out my projects in Tamil,Telugu and Hindi. I am not in a hurry and have a long way to go. I think I am going with the right filmmakers,” he said.

Though he missed GoW’s premiere at Cannes International Festival, his eyes light up while talking about it.“The film was screened in the Directors Fortnight category and it was heartwarming when I heard that Kashyap mentioned my name there. The music got a lot of appreciation. It is one of the important films in Indian cinema,” he said.Back home, his kitty is full with films like Thaandavam, Bala’s Paradesi, Jayam Ravi’s Nimirndhu Nil, Ilayathalapathy’s next which is tentatively titled Thalaivan and a couple of Tollywood films like Ongole Gitta.
